Abstract

818,676. Girders. MODERNER BAUBEDAUF G.m.b.H. Dec. 29, 1955 [Dec. 29, 1954], No. 37290/55. Class 20(4) A light girder for use in ceilings comprises a single metal profile 1 having a web 4 and top and bottom flanges 7, 3, 5, the bottom flange 3, 5, being embedded in a concrete foot 2. The profile 1 may be bent from sheet metal to form a bent up edge 10, flange portion 3, folded back portion 5, web 4, bent back upper portion 6, top flange 7, and rounded portion 8 merging into an end 9. The web 4 is provided with pairs of longitudinal slits 15 the material therebetween being bent to form bulges 16 which key with the concrete 2. In a modification shell-like bulges are formed adjacent longitudinal slits. Reinforcement bars 11, 12 may be provided. In forming a ceiling, girders are laid in parallel spaced positions to support blocks 18, Fig. 3, the ends of bars 11, 12 being bent upwardly and embedded in concrete 17 which fills the space between blocks 18. In a modification the concrete between the blocks is integral with a layer extending completely thereover.
