818,400. Recording &c. heads &c. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. May 6, 1958 [May 11, 1957], No. 15037/57. Drawings to Specification. Class 40 (2). An erasing head with a ferrite core has a copper or beryllium-copper gap spacer in good thermal contact with two metallic support plates. Since the core material is of relatively low thermal conductivity, eddy current heat in the spacer cannot readily escape through it, but according to the invention this heat can escape via the support members. The method of construction is also claimed for record/playback heads.
