Abstract
817,878. Protective cut-outs. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO. Ltd. Dec. 31, 1957 [Feb. 5, 1957], No. 3938/57. Class 38 (5). An earth fault protective arrangement has a current transformer CT with a primary winding CTP normally connected between the neutral N of a main supply transformer T and earth E, a secondary winding CTS across which is connected a circuit-breaker earth fault trip coil EC, and a test winding TP in series with a capacitor C and energizable through a test switch TS between one phase of the secondary winding S of the main transformer and earth E. The test circuit may also include a resistor R and a neutral link NL, the test circuit being isolated both from the earth E and neutral N when the link is open so that the test circuit cannot be operated unless the neutral link is closed.
