Abstract
A corrosion-resistant Al alloy consists of (1) refined Al (at least 99.95 per cent Al) containing 0.01-0.05 per cent Zn, or (2) an alloy according to Specification 735,873 (refined Al with pure Mn), containing 0.01-0.10 per cent Zn. The alloy may be used for roofing or for chemical plant, or as a cladding metal (as described in Specification 735,852), for a core of corrosion-resistant Al base alloy containing 1.25 per cent Mn, or 2.25 per cent Mg and 0.5 per cent Mn, or 1 per cent Mn and 1 per cent Mg, together with up to 0.3 per cent Cu.
