Abstract

816,177. Mouldings; draught excluders. F. T. PRODUCTS Ltd. Sept. 13, 1957 [Sept. 17, 1956], No. 28388/56. Classes- 20(3) and 20(4) [Also in Group XXV] A fastener, for example for securing a weatherstrip 27 to the edges of metal panels 25A, 26, 26A forming part of a vehicle body, comprises a strip 10 of resilient material bent to U-shape and having one of the limbs 12 thereof formed with two pairs of prongs 17, 18 and 19, 20 which are inwardly directed towards the web 11 of the U, one pair 17, 18 of the prongs being longer and reaching nearer to the other limb 13 than the second pair. The limb 12 may also be bent to form a lead-in portion 16, and sheared from the web 11 and lying in the plane of the limb 13 are two claws 14, 15. The fastener will accommodate one, two or three panel edges which may or may not lie flush with one another. A stiff flexible finishing strip 29, one edge of which engages under the lead-in portion 16, may cover the weatherstrip.
