Abstract
815,911. Frequency modulation; frequency shift radio signalling. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd., and ROBINSON, A. S. Dec. 12, 1956 [Feb. 6, 1956], No. 3664/56. Class 40 (5). In a back-coupled junction transistor oscillator employing a circuit 2 whose resonant frequency is dependent on the value of the collector electrode capacitance, the mean voltage between the base and collector electrodes can be varied by a modulating signal. In the embodiment shown, variation of the mean voltage between the base and collector electrodes of transistor 1 by a modulating signal, e.g. in frequency shift telegraphy, results in a known inverse variation of the collector capacitance and hence of the frequency of oscillation of the circuit.
