Abstract

815,740. Spring drums. MATTEI, J. B. Sept. 27, 1956 [Aug. 3, 1955], No. 22322/55. Class 78 (2). A spring drum A carries three-core cable H and the cores thereof are connected to the supply terminals G through the three springs F, which both carry the weight of the drum and act as conductors of electricity. Braking is provided by spring-loaded shoe K which is coupled by arm M to the cable H which passes round it so that, as the cable is pulled, the brake is released to permit the cable to pay out against the pull of the spring.
