Abstract
An excipient for medicines which are applied externally to the body comprises not more than 10 per cent by weight sodium metaphosphate, 10 per cent sodium sulphoricinate, 5 per cent glycerol and the remainder water. Magnesium chloride, bromide, iodide and fluoride and calcium chloride may also be included in the composition which may be used as a cosmetic or pomade, or excipient for a medicine such as sodium salicylate. The water employed may be a natural water such as sea water or spring water.
