814,970. Briquetting roller-presses. KOPPERN, H., and SCHAFER, H. [trading as MASCHINENFABRIK KOPPERN & CO. K. G.]. Feb. 15, 1956 [Feb. 17, 1955], No. 4788/56. Class 87(2). A roll for a briquetting roller-press comprises a hollow cylindrical body 1 with integral hollow trunnions 4 united to the body 1 by frustroconical end walls 2, the roll having a tyre 10 and, beneath the tyre 10, a helical groove 20 forming with the tyre a passage for heating or cooling mediums, the ends of the passage 20 being connected to pipes 22, 24, passing axially through the trunnions 4, for the supply and discharge of the fluid. Pairs of rolls are rotated by meshing rings 14, 16 the rings 16 and spacers 18 serving to locate the tyres 10.
