Abstract

814,902. Refuse bins. PEREZ, J. B. June 12, 1956 [March 28, 1956], No. 18066/56. Class 26. A cylindrical refuse container comprises upper and lower cylindrical portions 12 and 14 detachably secured together by fasteners 34, the lower end of the lower portion 14 being bent upwardly at 36 and inwardly to form a flange 38, and a circular bottom plate 40 secured to the flange at 42 and having a portion 44 forming an annular channel receiving the portion 14. The plate 40 may have a corrosion-resistant coating, and an annular gasket 50 prevents leakage. An annular reinforcing ring 32 is provided at the join between the portions 12 and 14, and a lid 20 with an inwardly extending groove 24 forming a hard grip is secured to portion 12 by fasteners 26; hand grips 16 are also formed in the portion 12. A vertical sleeve may be welded to the side of the container for receiving a post by which the container may be supported above the ground.
