Abstract

814,589. Fuel injection pumps. BOSCH G.m.b.H., R. Dec. 11, 1957 [Dec. 19, 1956], No. 38454/57. Class 102(1). A rotating and reciprocating pumping and distributing member 17 of a fuel injection pump is actuated by a rotary shaft 2 carrying a double face cam 3 engaged by rollers 8 mounted on members 9, 10 and connected to the member 17 which operates in a sleeve 34 having inlet and outlet ports 36, 38 which co-operate with parts 29, 30 respectively in the member 17. The members 9, 10 have teeth 12 engaging teeth 13 on a piston 14 subjected on one end to the pressure of a spring 15 and on the other end to hydraulic pressure variable in accordance with engine speed, and the member 9 is connected to the sleeve 34 so that angular adjustment of the members 9, 10 results in a corresponding angular movement of the sleeve 34. The angle moved by the sleeve 34 may be equal to or in a desired ratio to the angular adjustment of the members 9 and 10.
