814,456. Drafting textile fibres. CASANOVAS, J. M. S. Sept. 23, 1955 [Sept. 23, 1954], No. 27217/55. Class 120(2) Drawing mechanism for textile slivers comprising two or more drawing devices coupled in tandem with one another is characterized by the provision, in at least one of the drawing devices of a conveying and controlling means for the fibres consisting of an endless belt 3 below the sliver having its exit point lifted slightly. preferably five to eight millimetres above the plane of draft without any roller or other fibre retaining member bearing on the sliver at or near this position, so that it is the tension due to the draft exerted on the fibres that determines the pressure of the fibres against the raised end of the belt 3. In a second embodiment the belt 3 is on the lower roller of the first pair and the second drafting device comprises a double apron unit.
