Abstract

803,227. Air filters. SUPERVENTS, Ltd. May 24, 1957 [Feb. 20, 1956], No. 6148/56. Class 8(2). In an air filter unit comprising sheet media 9 e.g., paper supported on spaced foraminous sides 2 of a frame 3 the edges of each sheet 9 are seated on resilient strips 8 secured to the frame 3 and are releasably clamped thereon by a frame 10. As shown the frame 3 is of truncated triangular cross-section closed at the narrow end 7 and open at the other end 4 through which filtered air is drawn. The clamping frames 10 are hinged at one end 11 and are secured by a toggle fastener at the other and the wide end of the frame 3 is held against a rubber gasket 16 by a cross bar 18 secured to a longitudinally extending rod 19 having a wing nut 23 and an adjusting knob 20. A plurality of such units are arranged in parallel in a casing 6.
