Abstract

803,074. Building frames. POWER'S & DEANE, RANSOME'S, Ltd. May 15, 1956 [May 24, 1955], No. 14999/55. Class 20(4) A portal frame has a short metal section 5 connected between the two members meeting at each joint so as to form a rigid triagle therewith. The frame comprises two spaced uprights 1 joined by gusset plates 3 to two sloping members 2, the latter being connected at their apex by a gusset plate 4, the members 1, 2 being of steel or aluminium of I or channel section. At each joint the adjacent members are connected by a straight member 5 bolted at each end to the adjacent members very close to their ends.
