Abstract

802,915. Boots &c. E. P. SHOES, Ltd. Oct 16, 1956 [Oct. 17, 1955], No. 29536/55. Class 17(2) The quarters 3, 4, Fig. 9, abut at the back seam and are initially secured and reinforced by a back strap 7, which is attached by stitching 9-11 and has an extension tab 8. The quarters are cut away at 15 to allow the tab to be turned in over the insole 5, Fig. 3, to form a partial sock while the edges 3a, 4a of the quarters are out-turned for attachment to the insole. The upper and insole, with the edges of the tab 8 interposed between them, are secured together by a lockstitch seam 6, after a rubber sole 16 is stuck on. Finally, a rubber heel piece 18 with a reinforcing extension 17 over the back strap 7 is stuck on.
