802,899. Seed sowing machines. VOGELPOHL, W. Oct. 5, 1956, No. 30365/56. Class 6(1). A seed sowing machine comprises a rotatable disc 6 provided with recesses 7 and enclosed by two cylindrical housings 1, 2, the periphery of the disc being disposed adjacent to a flange 8 on the housing 1 and being provided in its side facing the flange 8 with a marginal beading 9 engaging in an annular recess 10 of the flange 8 resulting in the provision of a space 11 for the passage of air which is sucked off by a pipe-line so that each recess 7 will push up a single seed from a supply of seeds in the housing 2 which are supplied from a hopper 15 through an opening 16 provided with a pivoted agitator 17 operated by a cam 22 on a shaft 4 on which the disc 6 is mounted. Seed is discharged down a pipe 28 by means of compressed air from a mouthpiece 25 of a pipe 24 connected to a compressed air pipe 23 which is also connected by a pipe 32 to a nozzle 31 which directs a stream of compressed air in the disc to remove excess seeds from the recesses. The disc is driven from a trailing wheel mounted on an adjustable beam by means of a chain drive which includes a chain wheel 5 which may be replaced by a wheel of larger or smaller diameter to vary the spacing of the sown seeds.
