Abstract

A resistive alloy for use in precision potentiometers is composed of palladium, with or without platinum, and from 1 to 10 per cent chromium. A table of Resistance, Temperature Co-efficient and Tensile Strength for various proportions of chromium is given. A suitable brush alloy may be composed of platinum 80 per cent and iridium 20 per cent or platinum 85 per cent with not more than 15 per cent molybdenum or tungsten.
