800,575. Supporting overhead conductors. BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER'S CABLES, Ltd. July 17, 1956 [July 18, 1955], No. 20782/55. Drawings to Specification. Class 36. [Also in Groups VIII and XXX] A steady arm for the overhead contact or caternary wires of an electric railway comprises a rigid rod or tube of resin-bonded glass fibre having at one end means for attachment to a support and at the other end means for attachment to either the contact or caternary wire. The attaching means may be brackets adjustably clamped along the arm and constructions to cater for vertical movement of the wire bv means of pivotal arrangements especially suitable for use in tunnels are described, together with a preferred method for fabrication of the resin and glass fibre rod or tube.
