Class 44 A band clip for securing an object to a panel comprises a band 21, having one side margin 22 for engagement with the panel 24 and end portions separated by a gap 25 bridged by a connector shoe 26 consisting of a central portion 27 in which a threaded bore is disposed parallel to the clamp axis and from which wings 28 extend having formed therein respective diagonal slots 29 diverging towards the margin 22 engaging the panel, an actuator screw 31 passing through an aperture in the panel and engaging the threaded bore, and means 30 on the band end portions to engage the diverging slots 29 and enable the end portions to be drawn together when the screw 31 is rotated to draw the shoe 26 towards the panel. As described, the end portions of the band 21, which is of hollow channel section, are provided with connector buttons 30 to engage the slots 29. The head 32 of the screw 31 bears against the forward face of the panel so that rotation of the screw draws the shoe towards the panel whilst the buttons 30 exert a camming action in the slots 29 thus tightening the clamp. An anchor fitting 33 is secured to the band 21 diametrically opposite the gap 25 and comprises a threaded bore formed in a body portion 27<SP>1</SP>, and ears 28<SP>1</SP> extending therefrom for attachment to the band. Both the anchor 33 and the shoe 26 may respectively comprise two complementary sections, Figs. 7 and 10 (not shown), or the band may be in two semicircular parts and a second shoe used in place of the anchor fitting, Fig. 12 (not shown).. Various modifications are described in which fulcrum pads extend radially on either side of the gap and in contact with the panel thus preventing any tendency of the clamp to tilt when the screw 31 is tightened.
