Abstract
809,226. Hand-rakes. RANGELEY, W. R. D. Nov. 28, 1957 [Aug. 31, 1956], No. 26616/56. Class 6(2). A hand-rake comprises a frame 11 with a fitting 12 to receive a handpiece 13, a shaft 16, rotatably mounted in the frame, being fitted with an axially-spaced series of co-axial discs 20. The frame is of inverted- U shape and the shaft is of non-circular section with reduced threaded ends which pass through antifriction washers 18, 19 and carry nuts 17 externally. The discs may be a tight fit on the shaft or may be spaced by rubber sleeves 2]. The handle 13 is secured to the socket 12 by a screw 14. In a modification, Fig. 5, two shafts 16a, 16b are mounted in a fork 25 at their inner ends and in slotted brackets 15a at their outer ends, the slots in the brackets 15a permitting the two shafts to be mutually inclined when the rake is either pushed or pulled.
