Class 146(1) A posting tray for loose leaf filing systems comprises a horizontal, rectangular sheet-supporting tray portion 1 with side rails 2, 3, an upwardly extending plate 4 fixed at its lower end to one end of the tray 1, a second end plate 5 movable towards and away from the plate 4 and mounted on a slidable carriage 20 having apertures to receive a guide rod 23 extending throughout a guideway 22 in the tray 1, the carriage having means 26 locking it against movement away from the plate 4 but allowing free movement towards the plate 4 and spring urged release means 28 for moving the means 26 to allow movement in any direction. The carriage 20 has rollers 21 running in the guideway 22 and has a suport 12 above the tray 1 to which the plate 5 is pivoted at 7. The locking means 26 comprises a plate mounted on a pin 24 in the support 12 and having an aperture of greater diameter than the rod 23 which passes through it. The plate 26 is normally held at an angle to the rod, to bind against the rod, by a spring between the carriage end and the plate and this is released by pressure on one or both knobs 28 on the outside of support 12, having cams 29 spaced apart on a pin 30 by a spring, the cams engaging the plate 26 to move it to the upright position. The plate 5 is held in an upright position by a latch plate 8 pivoted at 15 to the plate 5 and having a lip 11 to engage the edge 14 of the support 12 and a hooked end 10 to engage over a projection 13 on the support, a spring 16 holding the parts in engagement. On release of the latch plate 8, the plate 5 rests against the inclined side 17 of the support 12. A similar support 12 and latch plate are provided for the fixed plate 4, pivoted thereto at 6.
