Abstract
805,124. Levelling heel seats. MALVERDI, A. May 27, 1955 [July 22, 1954], No. 15384/55. Class 17(1) A mould 32 clamped on the heel seat is hammered by the pneumatic hammer 6 which is oscillated about shaft 7 by means of a pin 3 eccentrically mounted on a pulley 2 driven by motor 1 and acting through link 4 and arms 5 seccred to the shaft. The hammer 6 is also moved parallel to shaft 7 by means of a wheel 12 which moves a slide 18 so that shaft 7 is moved lengthwise via cable 23. The shoe, supported on shaft 28, is rotated when wheel 17 turns. Pulley 2 drives wheels 8 and 10 secured to shaft 9, and wheel 10 drives wheel 12 or 17 by means of a member 11 housed in wheel 10 and moved to engage a hole either in wheel 12 or wheel 17 by means of a lever 13 which is itself actuated first in one direction and then in the other, as wheel 10 turns, by fixed cams 16, 16b. The arrangement is such that during the first 90 degrees of rotation of wheel 10 the hammer moves through half its rectilinear path, acting on one half of the heel seat, while the shoe is still, during the next 180 degrees the hammer does not move rectilinearly while the shoe is rotated through 180 degrees, and during the final 90 degres the hammer moves over the other half of its rectilinear path, acting on the other half of the heel seat, while the shoe is still. Slide 18 is pressed into engagement with wheel 12, for frictional driving thereby, by a roller 19 on lever 20 under the influence of spring 21. When the slide reaches the end of its stroke it operates a switch to stop the motor, roller 19 is then retracted by normal operation of lever 20, and spring 29 then returns the slide. Shaft 7 is returned by spring 30.
