Class 116 A trap 45 beneath the body 10 of a valve dispensing carbonated beverages traps carbonated water flowing from a central valve 41 and is formed with a conical drip cup 47 surrounding each of several syrup valves 16 to form narrow apertures about the syrup valves for the passage of the carbonated water and syrup. The carbonated water passes to the interior of the cup 45 by way of orifices 46 fed by a restricted passage defined by spaced conical surfaces on an insert 35 and a plug 36 screwed into it. Each of the syrup valves comprises a head 16 screwing into an operating stem 15 and carrying a washer 17 which seats against the end of a tube 18 secured to the body 10. The syrups are delivered by ing the valve to the chambers 13 of the syrup valves to pass between the stems 15 and the tubes 18 when the stems 15 are pipes running through an arm 11 supportdepressed. Guide pieces 26 with upwardly extending legs space the stems 15 from the tubes 18 without restricting the flow of syrup. The ends of the tubes 18 and of the drip cups 47 are so disposed that the greatest flow of carbonated water occurs about that syrup valve which is operated. The syrup valves and the carbonated water valve are operated as described in Specification 792,912 and the order of operation of the valves is such that the outlets of the syrup valves are washed before and' after each operation. The cams operating the valves may be formed so that they return automatically to the unoperated position when released or so that they stay in their operated positions.
