792,108. Stapling hand tools. SKREBBA, O., SKREBBA, H., SKREBBA, H., and JOPP, W., [trading as SKREBBA-WERKE KOMM-GES.]. Aug. 15, 1956 [Aug. 16, 1955], No. 24977/56. Class 89(3) An independent stapling unit, of known construction formed with a tongue-like base 3 carrying an anvil, is inserted into and is removably locked in place in a housing designed for a specific use, for example as a pliers type stapler or as a hammer type stapler. In a form of pliers type stapler, Fig. 3, the stapling unit is slidably inserted into a housing comprising pivotally connected arms 5, 6, the base plate 3 of the unit being received between guide surfaces 7 and lugs 8 formed in the handle 5. A pressure roller 10 on the arm 6 acts upon the stapling unit when the arms 5, 6 are compressed. The stapling unit is removably locked in place by a spring 9 constructed at its free end as a handle. Another embodiment, Fig. 5 (not shown) relates to a different form of pliers type stapler for stapling or stitching packages. In a hammer type stapler, a housing 17, Fig. 7, contains a stapling unit the base 3 of which is hinged backwardly so that it is slidably received between guides 18, 19 in the housing, in which position it is engaged by a spring loaded retaining latch 20.
