Abstract

798,871. Switch-boxes. TUCKER & CO., Ltd., J. H. Feb. 13, 1956 [Feb. 12, 1955], No. 4239/55. Class 38 (5). [Also in Group XXXVI] A wall-box 1 for mounting a switch in hollow walls or panels, particularly walls and panels formed as a cellular structure, has rigid walls 2 with slots 2a therein adapted to receive tongued pieces 3, the outer ends of which are arranged to abut the underside of a surface of the wall or panel 4, the tongued pieces being fixed in position after assembly by means in the box. As shown, each piece 3 has a barb 3a preventing its accidental removal, and is made resilient so that it can be sprung over a fixing detent 1a in the box 1. Jack screws (not shown) may pass through the base of the box so as to allow adjustment of the box to provide for flush mounting. The tongued pieces may be combined with fixing lugs for the switch.
