Co-operating pairs of hemispherical cups 25 rotate planetwise around an axis, each pair turning outwards to admit an orange, and then turning inwards to grip the orange which is then traversed against a fixed knife edge 94 to halve the orange as the knife passes through the space between the cups. An inclined surface 96 holds each half in its cup until a further, curved piece 97 presses the bottom edge of the half within resilient retaining fingers 98, Fig. 7, and the top edge is retained by a pin 101. The cups then rotate round and open apart to engage each half with a spherical rotated reamer, which bores and scrapes out the juice and pulp as the cups turn in again. The skin halves then travel up in their cups to meet ejector spoons 102a which prize out the halves 27. The pulp and juice runs down into a housing 118, Fig. 4, containing a sieve 119 with internal rotated pulp scrapers 120 which passes out at 128 while the juice flows out at 126. The cups are turned in and then out by cylindrical cam grooves 71, Fig. 9, having a cam follower 70 which is eccentric to the cup shafts 69.
