Abstract

A hair-treating composition comprises a mixture of D.L.-methionine (a -amino-g -methyl-mercaptobutyric acid) and D.L. serine (a -amino-b -hydroxypropionic acid). The composition is said to be converted into cystine by metabolic action of the cells of the hair follicle and the hair may be subsequently permanently waved.ALSO:A hair-treating composition comprises a mixture of DL-methionine (a -amino-g -methylmercaptobutyric acid) and DL-serine (a -amino-b -hydroxypropionic acid). The composition is said to be converted into cystine by metabolic action of the cells of the hair follicle.
