Abstract

789,009. Bushes for bungholes &c. LINING COMPONENTS, Ltd. Dec. 14, 1955 [Dec. 14, 1954], No. 36184/54. Class 125(3). The bunghole of a metal container having a polythene lining consisting of a top 8, barrel 10, bush 14 and bottom 12 welded together has a polythene bush 16 with an octagonal flange 18 preventing rotation and outward movement of the bush, a garter member 22, consisting of a length of tightly coiled tension spring with its ends secured together, fitting into a circumferential groove to prevent the bush moving inwardly. A screw plug 24 of polythene engages the bush to close the container.. In a modification the bush is of rubber reinforced by a metal ring and is moulded integrally with the top of the rubber lining bag of the container. Specification 699,799 is referred to.
