Abstract

778,816. Bearing bushes. CLAYTONWRIGHT, Ltd., H. Jan. 26, 1956 [Feb. 1, 1955], No. 2916/55. Class 12 (1). A cylindrical bearing comprises a split bush 14, Figs. 3 and 4, of plastics material, preferably nylon, which is fixed within a backing member 10. The bush 14 has projections 15 on its outer surface which are located in a groove 13 in the member 10. A lubricant groove 11 is also formed in the inner surface of the member 10. The slit 16 is in the form of a tongue 17 which engages a recess in the adjacent portion of the bush. In a modification, shown in Fig. 1, bosses 22 and circumferential oil grooves 24 are provided on the outer surface of a split bush 21.
