776,567. Potato-harvesters. RASMUSSEN, A. Nov. 26, 1954 [Nov. 28, 1953], No. 34386/54. Class 6(3). A potato-harvester comprises a wheeled frame 10 carrying a share 8 which co-operates with a conveyer 19 to feed excavated material to an endless elevator 25 discharging on to a series of upwardly-moving endless grading conveyers 35, 38 which enable the potatoes to roll down and fall into receptacles 12, 13 but discharge haulms and stones over their upper ends. The front portion of the frame 10 is connected to tractor draught-links 1, 2, and the rear end runs on wheels 11. The elevator 25 comprises rods mounted between endless chains. Stationary combs 29 agitate the upper run of the elevator and a stationary fabric member 32 spreads out the crop carried thereby. Deflectors 39 are mounted adjacent to the discharge-ends of the conveyers 25, 35 and the conveyers 35, 38 carry screw-adjusters 36, 37. The conveyer 19 is yieldably supported by a chain 21 at its forward end. All the conveyers are driven from the towing tractor.
