764,896. Gas-liquid contact apparatus. RUTGERSWERKE-AKT.-GES. Nov. 30, 1954 [Dec. 3, 1953], No. 34624/54. Class 55 (2). Distributing means for liquids in packed columns comprise curved plates vertically arranged in the packing and of a height ranging from half to four times their radius of curvature; their concave sides are turned towards the column wall. The plates may be corrugated or perforated or formed of wire gauze. Three plates, as shown, or four or six in larger columns, are preferably provided at the same level. These groups which are relatively staggered may be adjacent one another or spaced the height of the plates.
