Abstract
750,801. Brackets. GOLDMAN, M. June 30, 1954 [July 1, 1953], No. 18268/53. Class 52(5). [Also in Group XXV] Relates to a clip of the kind comprising a bracket having a vertical abutment surface, a jaw member pivoted on the bracket about a horizontal axis extending substantially parallel to the abutment surface, the jaw member having an operative surface of snail-cam form and defining with the vertical abutment surface a gap which decreases in width with the movement of the jaw member about its pivot in a direction such that the part of the operative surface facing the vertical abutment surface moves downwardly and stop means for limiting the movement of the jaw member in the direction for decreasing the gap. According to the invention the bracket comprises a metal strip, the end portions of which are bent at substantially right angles to the intermediate portion, one end portion constituting the abutment surface and the other end portion constituting the stop. As shown, the jaw member 15 of resilient material having ribs 16 thereon, is freely pivoted to a portion 13 of the metal bracket 10, the end portion 11 of which constitutes the abutment surface and the other end portion 12 of which constitutes a stop to limit the travel of the jaw member 15.
