Abstract
746,922. Making pipes. SHELL REFINING & MARKETING CO., Ltd. April 15, 1954, No. 11157/54. Class 83 (2). [Also in Group XXVIII] A corrugated pipe is made from two or more sections of corrosion-resistant, corrugated material, e.g: stainless steel, brass or aluminium bronze, united by longitudinal welds, the crests I and roots E, or both, of the corrugations C having rounded profiles Ri, Re which are onefifth to one-third of the average overall depth d of the corrugations and which are disposed between straight portions k, l, m, n, o, p arranged at about 60 degrees to each other. Flanges F of carbon steel are secured by welds W1, W2 to terminal portions of the pipe. The overall depth of the corrugations may vary and the deeper corrugations may be near the middle of the pipe. Specification 655,986, [Group XIII], is referred to.
