746,560. Ammunition packing. SOC. D'EXPLOITATION DES MATERIELS HISPANO SUIZA. April 27, 1954. No. 12178/54 Class 9(1) [Also in Group XVII] A container for the air-tight packing of guns, rockets, &c., has a cylindrical body and polygonal end flanges 3 extending beyond the body. The container may have an intermediate joint 6 and be closed by screw plugs 8, the plugs 8 housing springs or resilient blocks 9, 10 for engaging the contents. Split rings 11, 12 having peripheral resilient grommets 14 locate the contents laterally. This lateral locating may alternatively be achieved by elements such as 11, 12 wholly of resilient material. The rings .11, 12 may be apertured to permit circulation of warm air prior to final closing. Handhole O may be provided. A number of containers may be secured together by bolts passing through the flanges 3.
