746,409. Feeding furnaces. MARTIN, J. J. Feb. 1, 1954 [Feb. 18, 1953], No. 2964/54. Class 78 (1). A device for installation at the mouth of the shoot 1 in large-scale firing plants comprises a feed table 2 connected to the lower end of the shoot and provided with a mechanical cleaning device 7 adapted to clean the table by scraping it. The device may be curved in shape or made in sections and may be cooled by being inserted in the nozzle of an air blast and may be manually or mechanically reciprocated.
