Abstract
730,938. Curing bags for tyres. FIRESTONE TIRE & RUBBER CO. Aug. 20, 1953 [April 15, 1953], No. 22963/53. Class 87 (2). The valve of a tyre-curing bag is secured by a coiled spring 23, Fig. 9, surrounding the valve and embedded in the rubber of the bag during its vulcanization. The valve is composed of two parts, an internally threaded stem base 11, covered with a rubber sheath 12 (not shown), which is lodged in a slit cut in the bag at the inflating hole 15, Fig. 3, and an extension 19, Fig. 6, which carries the spring 23 and which is screwed into the stem base so that, during vulcanization, the spring sinks into the bag wall.
