Abstract
730,812. Cables. CABLES & PLASTICS, Ltd., and PILLING, H. S. Dec. 29, 1953 [Dec. 31, 1952], No. 33087/53. Class 36. A cable comprises at least one conductor which is covered with an insulating material such as polythene, then with a polyvinyl chloride sheath adhering firmly to the insulation and then with a nylon sheath adhering firmly to the polyvinyl chloride sheath. Several individually insulated conductors may be laid up together to form a core over which the polyvinyl chloride and nylon sheaths are applied. The insulation and sheaths may be applied by extrusion, a vacuum being formed in the head of the extrusion apparatus to ensure that the various layers fit tightly on to the underlying surfaces.
