Abstract

739,565. Glass. LIBBEY-OWENS-FORD GLASS CO. June 14, 1954 [July 3, 1953], No. 17362/54. Drawings to Specification. Class 56. In the production of a bent glass sheet, particularly for a vehicle windscreen, provided with a transparent electrically-conducting film, e.g. of a tin salt, the flat sheet of glass is heated to substantially its softening point, sprayed with a solution of the tin compound, cooled, placed on a bending mould and then reheated to bending temperature. A filmed sheet and an unfilmed sheet may be bent together and joined by a sheet of plastic; the film may be on the concave or on the convex side of either of the two sheets. Specification 632,256 is referred to.
