739,426. Knitting - machines. BOEHRINGER GES., GEB. Feb. 10, 1954 [Feb. 14, 1953], No. 3935/54. Class 74 (2). The fabric take-up of a straight-bar machine comprises hubs 4 secured to the take-up shaft 1 and between which a number of rollers 6 are mounted so as to be freely rotatable. The takeup straps 7 are attached to the hubs 4 so as to withdraw the fabric as it is knitted and wind it about the rollers 6. On completion of knitting, the welt rod is withdrawn and the fabric may be unwound by pulling its free end, the rollers 6 rotating to permit the unwinding without the necessity of rotating the shaft 1.
