739,119. Cylinder cooling and construction. HANNOVERSCHE MASCHINENBAU AKT.- GES. VORM. G. EGESTORFF, HANOMAG. Aug. 21, 1953, No. 23097/53. Class 7(2). A two-stroke engine has cylinders separately mounted on a common crankcase and enclosed by a scavenging air receiver in the region of which the cylinders have cast-in cooling-water spaces 5, 6, longitudinal passages 11 being provided in each cylinder barrel 1 for bolts securing the cylinder heads to the crankcase. The spaces 5, 6 are joined by passages 8, 9 opposite and around the exhaust ports 4, the passage 8 having a large core opening 7 closed by a cover. The inlet ports 3<SP>1</SP>, 3<SP>11</SP> may be oval, but as shown are rectangular and those, 3<SP>1</SP>, on one side of the diametral plane of the exhaust ports are inclined upwardly at a different angle to those, 311, on the other side.
