736,156. Thermal switches. LUCAS (INDUSTRIES), Ltd., J. Oct. 20, 1953 [Nov. 29, 1952], No. 30315/52. Class 38 (5). ' A switch for controlling a flashing signal lamp on a vehicle comprises a pair of flexible metal strips c, d mounted on a post b, strip c being longer and connected at its upper end to one end of a thermally extensible wire j, the other end of which is anchored to a lug k and connected to a terminal n. Strip c carries the moving switch contact e, the other contact f being attached to strip d which is connected to the other switch terminal i. The centre of strip c carrying contact e between a pair of marginal slots s is bowed so that wire j actuates the contact with a snap-action. For adjusting the flashing frequency lugs h at the sides of strip c are interconnected by a screw s through which the strain on the strip can be adjusted. Specification 711,348 is referred to.
