736,149. Drying fabrics. BOWATERS DEVELOPMENT & RESEARCH, Ltd. June 29, 1953 [June 27, 1952], No. 16319/52. Class 34 (1). [Also in Group VIII] On the inside of the shell 1 of a suction roll of a fabric-drying machine, and at the off-going side of the suction box 5, is a comb-like baffle 6, e.g. of rubber, such that the holes 2 in the shell are uncovered gradually, and the roll is thus silenced. The baffle 6 may be on an arm 9 pivoted at 10 so that it may be swung downwardly to facilitate removal of the box from the roll.
