Abstract

735,164. Temperature-variable resistors. MULLARD RADIO VALVE CO., Ltd. Oct.' 8, 1953, No. 27677/53. Addition to 720,955. Class 40 (1). The temperature variable resistor disclosed in the parent Specification is modified by winding the coiled resistance wire around a reduced diameter part of the cylindrical former. In the example, a ceramic or silica former 1 has a part 4 reduced in diameter such that the bores 2 and 3 are exposed and the coiled platinum wire is wound around this part 4. The coiled coil 6 is sealed as at 9 and the connecting wire 8 inside coil 6 and at the top of former 1 is also sealed as shown. A refractory cement such as " Alundum " (Registered Trade Mark) may be used for this purpose.
