Abstract

734,922. Glass blocks. PITTSBURGH PLATE GLASS CO. Feb. 26, 1951 [March 14, 1950], No. 4696/51. Drawings to Specification. Class 56. In the method of forming hermetically sealed double glazed units generally as in Specification 665,977, before the weld is completed the air pressure in the interplate space is abruptly increased in order to assist the shaping of the inner face of the weld. This increase of pressure is effected for example by admitting air at approximately 15 lbs. per square inch through at least one pore hole, or by abruptly decreasing the spacing between the plates.
