Abstract
729,987. Wadding. LAUN, H., and LAUN, G. July 17,1953 [July 18, 1952], No. 19829/53. Class 142(4). [Also in Group VII] A strip of fabric, suitable for sanitary and surgical purposes, is made from wadding, in which the fibres 1 are uni-directional, by means of lines of stitching 2 disposed transversely to the fibres and spaced apart from one another at a distance 3 less than the average length 4 of the fibres. The edges of the strip are reinforced by pairs of lines of stitching 6 spaced apart at a distance 5 less than the distance 3. The strip may be covered by a layer of gauze or muslin held in place by the stitching, and may be cut from a breadth of wadding with longitudinally directed fibres by cuts transverse to the fibres.
