Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of the general formula <FORM:0729967/IV (b)/1> wherein R1 and R2 each stand for a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, aralkyl or alkenyl group and R3 stands for an alkyl, aralkyl or alkenyl group, and their acid salts. They are prepared by reacting an isonicotinyl halide or a hydrohalide thereof with mono-, di-, or tri-substituted hydrazine, the substituents being alkyl, aralkyl or alkenyl groups, and in the case when an N1,N1-disubstituted hydrazine is used, treating the N2,N2-disubstituted isonicotinyl hydrazine obtained with an alkali metal dissolved in a lower alkanol and subsequently with an alkyl, aralkyl or alkenyl halide. Examples disclose the preparation of (1) N1-isonicotinyl - N1,N2 - diisopropyl - hydrazine and its hydrochloride; (2) N1-isonicotinyl-N1,N2-dibenzyl-hydrazine and its hydrochloride; (3) N1 - isonicotinyl - N1 - n - butyl - N2,N2-dimethyl - hydrazine; (4) N1 - isonicotinyl-N1 - benzyl - N2,N2 - dimethyl - hydrazine; (5) N1 - isonicotinyl - N1 - allyl - N2,N2 - dimethyl - hydrazine; (6) N1 - isonicotinyl - N1-allyl-N2,N2-diethyl-hydrazine.
