[Also in Group XIII] In a rotary regenerative heat-exchanger (see Group XIII) arcuate segments together form an annular rotor shell which is divided by radially extending partitions into sector-shaped compartments. Individual segments are secured between adjacent partitions being pivoted to one and detachably secured to the other by tubular locating pins having a longitudinally extending slot in the wall thereof. When high temperatures are encountered in the heat-exchanger these pins may be silver plated to facilitate their removal.
