Abstract
728,024. Converting. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE. May 26, 1953 [May 23, 1952], No. 14557/53. Class 38 (2). [Also in Group XL (c)] A circuit for generating a high voltage from a low-voltage supply Q comprises a transistor T and a tuned circuit LC connected to the lowvoltage supply to provide an oscillation generator, the output from which is applied through a step-up transformer to a rectifier G and smoothing condenser CL to develop a high unidirectional voltage. As shown, the tuned circuit is connected between the collector and base electrodes, feedback to the emitter electrode being provided by a coil R. The invention may be used to supply the high-tension voltage for a vehicle radio receiver, the low-voltage supply being derived from the vehicle's battery. The oscillation frequency is chosen to be at least 1 kc/s. and is preferably in the region of 25 to 50 kc/s. If the invention is used in conjunction with a super-regenerative receiver, the oscillator output may also be employed for quenching the receiver.
