Abstract
712,914. Valve supply circuits. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. May 1, 1952 [Aug. 28, 1951], No. 20299/51. Class 40 (6) In a television or like transmitter the grid bias of a linear amplifier is varied in dependence upon the anode voltage so as to maintain the amplifier output substantially constant. A potential divider 9, 10 connected to the anode supply of a linear amplifier (not shown) causes a fraction of the variations in the H.T. supply to be applied to the resistor 12, the grid bias supply for the linear amplifier being derived from the junction of resistors 12, 7. Any variation in potential of the tapping on resistor 12 is fed through amplifier 1 to an absorber valve 3 cathode follower connected so as to vary the grid bias of the line or amplifier. The resistor 10 may be adjusted so that with the desired anode and grid potentials on the linear amplifier no voltage appears across resistor 12.
