Abstract
702,600. Lens turrets for cameras. PYE, Ltd. Jan. 7, 1952 [Jan. 5, 1951], No. 406/51. Classes 97(1) and 98(1) In a camera, for example a television camera, having a turret carrying a plurality of lenses and rotatable to bring one of the lenses into operative position, a movable member is positioned behind the turret and carries one or more light filters, means being provided, controlled externally of the camera, for selectively positioning any of the filters in the operative position and for moving all the filters out of the operative position when no filter is required to be used. As shown in Fig. 2, as applied to the television camera described in Specification 670,581, the turret plate 4 bearing lenses 3, is rotatable on a hub 5 on the camera front 1 by engagement of a pinion (not shown) with a toothed ring 6, connected to the plate 4. Between a shoulder 10 of the plate and a spacing ring 11 between the plate and the ring 6 is located an annular member 8 having a portion 12, Fig. 1, bearing colour filters 13, and a portion of reduced diameter having teeth 14 engaged by a pinion 15 to rotate the member 8 for selectively positioning the filters in alignment with the lens in its operative position. Movement of the member 8 may be effected by a lever system. Preferably one of the filter housings is left unoccupied or contains a plate of clear glass.
